I know I look like a vet with an account creation date of 2008, but I feel more like a Newbie with only 78 ascensions and no IOTM's.  I do tend to quit off and on because I get bored after awhile.  Anyhow.

Even with my older account it takes me more than a month to ascend most of the time (I know.. I know) , yet contests are usually only 1 month long.  Every now and then maybe the contest could be split up and for clannies with less than a certain # of ascensions they get 2 months to complete the contest, and everyone else gets 1 month?  (I am not trying to get 2 months for me, but maybe those under 25 ascensions or something like that?)

Would it make sense to do a contest that is a scavenger hunt of sorts?  Have a list if items that are off the beaten path, maybe an easier list for newbies under a certain ascension level, and harder items for vets to find.  Have everyone donate  the items to the clan so there is a record, and whoever finds at least 1 of everything is entered into the drawing?

I have also noticed that a lot of the guides, sub-reddits etc are focused on players with more IOTMs or who know the game really well.  It might be nice to have a list of stuff for lower level players, like a list of easy to find or low cost to buy costumes for things like meat farming, a list of good items to sell that aren't real useful in the game, etc.  I just recently found out about the Spookyraven Skills, lol.  Even a list of good side quests or skill quests that can be done while turn burning might be helpful.

I can't remember what messages I've been sent by the clan, though I definitely remember someone giving me a load of goodies! I have tried looking a the forums a few times but they seem very quiet so the clan doesn't look very active. I've also tried reading through the rules for the clan basement as that sounds fun and I think it's a joint activity with other clan members. Not even having been in the basement I find the rules confusing though so I'm a bit worried i'll say I agree with them and then do something horribly wrong and annoy everyone. Don't really know what could be done about this, it could just be me being dumb. Maybe a welcoming message saying how you can get involved in the clan and a link to the discord if that's where people post nowadays. I did try looking for it but couldn't find it! How about a second welcome wagon when people upgrade to be able to go into the dungeons? Like a dungeoneer's starter's kit, basic do's and don'ts, etc. I know there's a lot in the rules but I think it would be fun if more people got into the dungeons!

Thinking through all of this, thinking about how hard some of my ideas would be to implement and after playing a bunch of Diablo Immortal...

What about this:

What if there were not contests, but Guided quests (you know, like in a video game where you have a mystical guide who sends you on some starter quests to introduce you to the game)
For example, you could have a guided quest where if a new clannie can successfully join the basement and adventure one time in the slimetube, they get some prize. I think this would help encourage people to explore the depths of KoL a bit more and be pretty engaging for all players.

Some guided quests might be:

Beginners
- Clan Basement
- Use of Mafia
- Defeating one Deepcity Temple boss
- Completing the Future quest one time
- Complete a HC run

Middle
- Complete a Special Challenge Path
- Complete a HC run for all 6 classes
- Perm a slime skill
- Defeat a basement boss


Advanced
- Defeat Dad Sea Monkey
- Complete a Bad Moon run
- Aquire a HoboMonkey
- Defeat a Dreadsylvania boss in more challenging mode (being careful with my words)

Then, with each guided quest accomplishment, you get a prize of some sort ranging from Hobopolis skill books those unique and super helpful items from the past.

- For implementation, 2 clannies could maintain google doc of the clan accomplishments and give out the swag.

 - To submit, proof of earning, there would just be a new thread in here where you submit your screenshot or quest log.

I think it would be neat if we sent people "loot boxes" like "Everything you need to minimize your adventures in the Giant Trash Quest Box" and/or paired them with a volunteer mentor (if they're ultra noobs) that they can ask questions from
