UnusualScar Welcome Wagon Awards 23
« on: December 02, 2023, 03:05:45 pm »
This Crimbo, we at the Welcome Wagon remember the player that got us to make giveaways in the first place: Scar’s legacy lives on even after leaving the game, so it’s time to tell the tale!

Tell us your favorite thing that happened to you in game, be it a very suboptimal moment or a bit of wholesomeness in clan chat. Let’s share the best (or most hilarious) stories that make Old CW’s the place to be <3

Prizes are a Mr. A generously donated by our clannie Semenar and one-day tickets for all participants, courtesy of BuddyBrock and Jilltwo! Have fun o/

I guess my best day was just recently when 2 of my 3 avatars got Ninjamas, making every slot in my characters a rollover adventure gain. More adventures, more fun.

I was asking for advice about how best to dress & fight on the Globe main stage, because my ideas weren't getting me more than two or three roses. I noticed that I had received a kmail, not very common yet for me. I discovered that it contained a Club of the Five Seasons. While I was thanking the donor, I started getting more messages and found that I had been gifted with some 12+ Effects for 1,000 turns. The TTT sunddenly became an awful lot easier.

I used to play Mafia Wars and belonged there to a group of players called PiF (Pay it Forward). It was my best day when I found that same generosity here. And now I discover that my clan here lives by the same ethos. Very cool.

I'm still somewhat a new account but my favorite thing was finding friendly people and making new friends.  Also all da penguins!

My favorite event so far was the Drunksgiving, which coincides with a real-life holiday that I also like. I communicated a lot with fellow clan members, exchanged potions, and learned a few things about the mechanics of KoL, such as that inebriety can go above 25. Quelzie sent me a crazy amount of 700 swirly potions, which helped me get into the top 10 players with highest regret levels! I am famous, I was in the Museum rankings! Oh, Quelzie also sent me 700 bubbly potions by mistake... so I had to distribute them before logging off, it was very close to rollover, I was panicking, and I started sending them to random clan members who just happened to be online. Lots of fun. For example, I sent 100 of the potions to myxoma, who panicked and started asking in the newbie chat why are people sending her bang potions. In the end, I think she exchanged them for the correct ones within the clan! :)

I raise a toast with an AutumnFest Ale for Scar and the good old OldCW.

My account may be a little over a year old but I've only just accessed Clan and other E-Mail required functions in the last few months. Mostly it's a bunch of little things:
- Getting access to the Mall let me sell certain items at a better price than if I auto sold, but also let me help players by supplying things at lower prices and undercutting monopolies.
- I learned about things I wouldn't have found out on the Wiki by observing certain chat conversations.
- Got to contribute just a bit TO said Wiki which is always nice; I like taking the vague and unknown and bringing clarity and certainty to it.
- I also liked how, during a game of chance where the goal was not to match another player, 3 out of 4 people (myself included) all picked the same 2 numbers and in the same order out of 6. Only the first number had to not match, but the odds that all three of us would pick the same numbers in the same order was 1/1296, or 0.077% which was just crazy. I also got the equation wrong at first and got to learn from the mistake when it was pointed out to me which was nice.
