Hey there!! My name is Jaylee, which is also my nickname IRL. I am a single mom to 3 kids, ages 10, 15, and 17. I was in the Navy for several years and now I work as a nurse. I have been playing KoL for around 9 years now. My original character was deleted for inactivity and when I came back I started this one. In-game I collect stuffed fairies and vampire pearls. I have several alts in KoL: Stormfire, Kami, and Welcomewagonger.
If anyone ever needs any help in-game, feel free to send me a kmail. I try to answer them everyday but sometimes I get behind and it may take me a few days...

Hi there!
My name is Max and for some reason I have always kept Alex Trebek-related internet accounts. Someday this will surely result in some sort of dissociative identity disorder.
I registered for KoL back in '04 and remember back when ascension was a brand new thing! Then... I promptly quit playing for years. I accidentally got permed from a hannukimbo dreidl, so my account lives!
I'm in pharmacy school and so I imagine there will be times where I'm less able to play, but I enjoy the zen feeling of beating a new boss, being able to survive a new zone, or just ascending quickly and efficiently.
Thanks for having me here!

I'm Zan, 34 Aussie and a solo mum to a 10 month old boy. I found KOL too many years ago....was probably about 8 years ago? KOL still makes me smile. What else can I say? I like odd. I have a "Knob Goblins Fear My Moxie" sticker stuck up at work...and I work in a professional environment, so people think I'm odd too. ;D
-
I'm a 35 year old US citizen living in Cambodia. I found KoL about a year ago and love it! No kids but I do live with a very demanding cat named Zaphod Stormageddon Meow. I'm currently on a Zombie Master run and it's effin' hilarious!
-
Ooh lovely new car smell in the new forums... I'm mid 50's Australian Female independent still a hippy Michelle but everyone calls me Mitch cause I'm lots of things that rhyme with that?
kol few years now, great, really like the complexity in the game. Bit of a no-lifer on mmorpg before, prefer kol feel.
Just got final telescope, woo me!
have fun,
mishau

Hi, I'm Tyler,
I'm a Sophomore in college, double majoring in Computer Science and Computer Engineering at WVU Tech. I've been playing since I was in the 6th grade (though off and on and I can't remember my first account. I miss my Coffee Pixie). I'm currently working my way through an onslaught of HCO, HC BM, and other runs. Also on a side project, I'm working on developing a Writing Forum and/or Game I dub Cavemen vs Zombies.
Nice to meet y'all!

I'm an Aussie working in Silicon Valley and a relative newbie to KoL.
My wife introduced me to KoL and then abandoned her character .... unless there is limited time content or Crimbo. Then she wants to play again.
My alt is "Sinick" and my name is just my initials. The "d" is for David". The "e" is also what people say when they see me ("ewww").

Bayla here. 73-yr-old wife of 1, mother of 2 and grandmother of 3, plus virtual mother of Jaylee and anyone else who'd like some mothering (or grandmothering) from time to time, either in chat or privately -- my email is bayla2@earthlink.net
Eclectic professional and personal history, sort-of retired now. Living in Florida, aka 'heaven's waiting room.'
Eldest grandson hooked hubby on kol, hubby hooked me -- then grandson decamped!

Glocknare here. Hello. I started playing kol in college around 10 years ago, give or take little. Played for a few ascensions then stopped and when I came back my account was gone so I started this one. My goal is to get skills through ascension. I have a few so far but intend to get a lot more. I love RPG's but rarely get to play them so this is my fix. Ok gotta go, getting jittery and need to smash things.

Hi! My name is JohntheDwarf! John the Dwarf was one of the early "desert fathers" of early Christianity and had some insight I greatly appreciate. I am currently 26, married, and a children's minister teaching about 20 kids each week! My first run took over 6000 adventures and I only played sporadically over the course of 2 years. But now I play more consistently! I have ascended about a dozen times at this posting and finally decided to join a clan. I look forward to being a part of the community and contributing in a positive way.
-
Howdy,
I am Kenyon Oreblood. I am a forty-something father of nine (ages 15, 13, 13, 12, 6, 5, 3, 2, 11 mos). I have worked in the financial sector for the majority of the 21st Century. In the 20th Century, I was a professional musician. I am planning to return to college soon, to complete a degree in Applied Mathematics. I have recently returned to New York, after spending 20 years wandering the deserts of Arizona (ok... not really... I lived in Phoenix).
I played KOL many moons ago, but only for a very short time. I have returned just recently, and completed my first ascension a few weeks ago. Woo Hoo!

Hi, I'm Catherine. I am 55, and I have 3 adult children. I live in southeast Alaska. I'm widowed, but I have a boyfriend. I work as a field officer at an animal shelter. I don't use zoloft, I just thought it sounded like a neat name. Grimmy was nice and gave me my present title. That was very sweet of him! My alt is "SunshineC", but I don't use it very often. I'm really happy I joined this clan. I think it's the best clan in KoL!

My name is Bryan. I work in IT and live in the Southeastern US.
I discovered KoL from the xkcd forums almost 3 years ago. And I've played about 6 days a week ever since!
I joined Old CW's earlier this year because I wanted to be in a clan with people who actually play the game. And I'm glad I did.
Also, I go to KoLCon. So if you're ever there, say hi!
-
It's cool reading about you all. You lead very interesting lives behind your clannie names in chat!
I'm Haroldine, which seemed like a female seal clubber name. I'm a forty-something married woman in upstate New York with a teenager and pre-teen and a Newfoundland. I edit romance novels for a living. I love it, but it often requires breaks to smash monsters. I also write young adult fiction. Nothing published yet, although Highlights Magazine bought one of my fiction stories. I've been playing KOL for about 4 years, and I took over my son's account, AwesomeSolarJigsaw, but I don't use it often. I collect ancient ice cream scoops in game.
Please say hello in chat!
-
Hello, clannies.
My RL name is Marius, I'm 39, I live in Eastern Europe.
Been playing for quite some years (>5), I have some chars in different other clans.
Well, I don't really play nowadays, I have simply scripted my daily adventures.
I'm still fascinated to discover arcane and obscure references in the game, and I mostly like to explore the new things when they get implemented.
-
Hey, this is Sean, 29 y.o. from Singapore (no, we are not in China). Just started on Kol. In real life, I love to Scuba dive and try to take a short holiday to one of the neigbouring Asian countries every month (or two).
-
I'm Thea, a relative youngster according to most of the intros so far at 37 (and boy do I love that, I'm used to being the oldest person in most internet and/or fandom-based discussions), living in Michigan with my partner and a heap of fuzzy, four-footed kids (cats and rabbits). I returned to KoL from a long absence around the beginning of the year, but I was originally around in 2004 (I have extremely vague recollections of the Penguin Mafia stuff, and I'm still peeved that my old characters are gone because at least one of them had a TPS). I actually came back, under a multi, to join a clan of refugees from a wonderful game called Glitch, but this character somehow turned into my main one, possibly because I picked her to try AoJ with, and it turns out I LOVE AoJ, so I did three or four **** runs before meandering on to try some other stuff.
-
Jay from Jersey.
I've been a professional web developer for (ouch) 11 years in the private sector.
Discovered KoL last year from one of the AmA's on reddit.... after discovering that reddit from Fark.
Was lucky enough to discover this clan from the clan top 10 list, after having played some Halo on xbox with chat enabled.
I've done enough ash scripting to at least be coherent, and am trying to decrease my sub-optimalness.
-
Hi all. Billy here. I am retired from the USAF, and with a bit of planning, and being unemployed for a total of 3 weeks since I turned 15 (44 now), I can afford to BE retired.
Single, no kids...my days consist of working out & working on my house (built in the 1800s).
-
I'm Gregory, Greg is fine :)
I live and work in Belgium at "Barry Callebaut" chocolate factory yay ^^
I'm 21 Years old and I love to play computer games ( minecraft, KoL, GW2, League of legends, ... etc)
-
Real Name: Jennifer
I live in Los Angeles and am.. yes.. an actor. Most of my work lately has been voice over but I do on camera and on stage as well. I am also a food geek. I have a BA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. And, while I am based in CA presently I have lived Many places, both within the US and the UK. I've been on KOL for a few years now.
-
hiya :) i was also in the navy for a bit, and am becoming a nurse, but I am not jaylee ;) mostly because I have 2 cats instead of kids.
who i am is bethannie, from western ny: full-time student at least until december. my cats are freak and kittycore (i mention them often in chat). the bf i just call by his old kol name "janxy."
umm... i have no life outside of school, kol, and steam, because nursing school is exhausting. i'm pretty laid-back, and willing to help/answer questions, and if i don't know the answer, i will try and help you find it.
also, i dislike capital letters.
also also, in game i am HighPriestessOfTinsel, Wembley Fraggle, and Janxy (but he's only a farmer, so i rarely chat on him)
-
Soluzar is also known as Richard. I play lots of games. I tend to wander off from KoL a lot, but I will always come back.
I don't have much to say about myself, but if you haven't already chatted to me in the game, try it next time you see me. I'm friendly.
-
hiya :) i was also in the navy for a bit, and am becoming a nurse, but I am not jaylee ;) mostly because I have 2 cats instead of kids.
I told you that I could take care of the kid part for you :D airfare would be cheap :D

Hey Guys,
In game name is Grenmark, I have been in the clan for a long while now but work has been keeping me busy. Things have been getting exciting here though so I thought I should poke in and say hi as I gear up to play a bit more. I live in California, just south of San Francisco. I'm 27 (just had my birthday on July 30th!) and I work tech support for a startup. I try to make sure I'm always in chat when I'm on but again, it's been a while. I'm a few ascensions in, I usually run HC challenge paths. Definitely intrigued to try more dungeons, I played in the slime tube many moons ago but I never really got into Hobopolis so I'd love to do that and of course Dreadsylvania looks fun. I'd be happy to help in any way I can.
Thanks!
Grenmark

Hello everyone!
My name is Barb, and I live in Pennsylvania. I first started playing KoL in 2004, and I'm lucky enough to still have my original character (Lydian). I decided to start over since it has been so long since I last played. I was never in an active clan before, so I thought it would be nice to have people to chat with this time around. :)
-
Hi all!
I'm Michael; probably the youngest here (20 lol) undergraduate at UC Berkeley studying in both Psychology and Music.
Played KOL quite a long time ago and my old account was deleted for inactivity. Cheers!
-
Hello clannies. I play skinz (and skinz2 and skinz3 [there is no 4 skinz because that would be too easy]}. My name is Dustin, Im 30 years old and Im currently serving in the US Army. I am usually on daily then Ill randomly take a hiatus yet I keep coming back. Ive been playing KOL for >5years now. I started playing during a deployment and now two deployments later Im still playing. My hobbies include poking Jaylee in chat and in general being a nuisance.
-
Hi. I'm Heliouse, or Tim. 21 year old Psych major in Mississippi. Target mini-manager.
-
Hello folks. I'm shirts--on the other side of the scrimmage field from skinz--and live/work in Canada. I do both paperwork and non-paperwork. I've been playing KoL on and off for awhile, and like it a lot. I keep at it regardless of changes in my non-paperwork work, but sometimes the paperwork work gets more intense--it ebbs and flows, seasonally--and when it piles up, I'll miss some KoL for a week or so.
-
Hi there, I'm PureSax from Vancouver, Canada. I'm 19, starting 2nd year university at UBC, studying biochemistry and saxophone. I've been on and off this game since around 2009, but it's always fun to pick it back up. It's surprising how when reading through the introductions I don't see people's ages beginning with a 1, heh. Hopefully I can show that teenagers today aren't all bad =P I'll be lurking clan chat for the most part.
-
Hey guys,
I'm Joachihm(totaly unrelated to my real name) from Germany and I've spent a little over 24 years on this weird planet.
Due to my work I travel quit a bit which will probably cause me to be inactive more than I'd like to be. Matter of fact I'm in Chile at the moment working 60-70 h per week. KoL came as a perfect distraction from all the stress for me. However I have no clue what I'm doing in this game but I like it so far.
-
Hi, my real name is Kathryn and I am brand new to KoL. A friend recommended the game to me and hey, free game. Found the clan by chance and was attracted to the "nice people" and "over 40" parts of the description. I am 43, unmarried, no children, one cat. My background is in art and photography, I do freelance design and I am always looking for work. Beyond that, I live in Western Colorado. Looking forward to getting acquainted with you.
-
Hey, I'm Wonderdummy. WD or Wonder is fine (while I'm not gonna say I don't qualify for the full title, but it is a long name...). I'm a college student studying Engineering Mechanics. Coming up on three years playing KOL. If there's something I can do to help, lemme know, otherwise... lemme know anyway. I am far more active around event times, so if I'm not on at other times, don't worry.
-
Hello all, I'm Maya and am returning to KOL after a long hiatus. I'm slowly getting reacquainted with the game and looking forward to meeting some new faces. I applied to the clan when I noticed the bit about an older and active crowd, sounds great to me!
-
Hi all, My name is Nathan and I am a 41yr old who lives in Washington state with my girlfriend and our 3 kids 19, 15, & 12. I have been playing KOL on and off for 7ish years. My first account was deleted and I started this one in 2008. I have a couple of Alt's but they have not seen any play since last Crimbo.
-
I'm... Kevin Wolf, and am unsure of why I entered my name for my character when I signed up. I've played enough games in my life to know you can almost always name your character as you like in RPG type games. I suppose, at the time, I thought an MMORPG required a direct response or something...ugh how I wish I could change it.
But anywho, I'm an art teacher in St. Louis. I draw comics, like to go rock-climbing, and live with my two cats in south city. I'm a big fan of retro-gaming, mexican food, and I like me a fine glass of Merlot with a scary zombie movie.
-
Hey everyone,
I'm Ryan. I'm 27 and live in Toronto. I've just started playing KoL again after not playing for two or three years. I'm kind of finding the ropes again, but I may be asking for help in the chat.
In my free time, I like to play Left 4 Dead 2 and magic cards. I also really love pizza.
-
Hey all,
Names Scott. I'm 31 living in Calgary and work in Engineering for an ISP. Recently married and raising out 10 month old daughter.
I've been known to binge on KOL for a few months and then slow down a bit...but i can't quit the habbit :).
-
My name is Tot Lee. I was named after my grandfather. His name was Tot Lee. My father's name is Lippy Lee. I am glad I was named after my grandfather.
I make soup for a living. I am not a soup Nazi like on Seinfeld. I am a soup NINJA! I will sneak up on you at night and steal your soul with my soup.
-
I'm Dave, 34, from California, currently living in Sonoma Valley. I manage a small import and distribution business and live a generally low-key life by design. Unmarried, no kids, currently single, livin' the dream.
When I do get out I like loud bass music, good food, long hikes... though an injury a few years back has put a bit of a damper on that. I like other stuff too.
Also, currently addicted to KoL.
-
Heya!
I've had multiple previous KoL accounts, but all of them were deleted. (Yes, before they stopped deleting accounts)
This is the longest continuous stint of playing, and the only character I've ascended, so I'll probably keep at it a while.
It's been great hanging out in chat and getting to know everyone!
Male, US West Coast, 40's, work in IT. Anything else can come out in chat.
Thanks for having me in the clan!
-
Howdy, all. Ben from Florida, USA. Software engineer and the somewhat shy-and-quiet type around peeps I don't know well. Admirer of KoL and wonder if/when I'll finally get over my video game obsession (3rd decade and still going strong).
-
Hello!
My name is Michelle. 46 years old, St. Louis resident for most of my life. I've been playing KOL for about 10 years. Believe it or not I had multis older than Sevain who were deleted before I finally settled on Pastamancer for my permanent incarnation. (Who knew things would evolve the way they have?) I've taken long breaks here and there but have come back after every other game just can't make me laugh the way this one does. I am a rabid completionist (where meat allows) and a trophy hound of the worst kind, rather proud that I slip in and out of 1st place in the Kingdom in that category. I love ascending but my long-term memory and knowledge of the game grows sketchier with every re-vamp. Always happy to help any way I can.
One alt in the clan (P Sleazy) who is happy to cage-sit or anything else.
I have 2 cats, an erstwhile boyfriend, and a 17 year old daughter. I am on and off throughout the day as my full time job at this point is re-habbing an 85 year old tudor cottage we bought a few years ago.
Enjoying my time in the clan and happy to have found somewhere comfortable and friendly after so many years in the game.
-
I am Jeff. Currently living in Florida. First computer experience was with my friend's Atari 400. Shortly afterward I got a Commodore 64 which was upgraded to a Commodore 128. After some time I finally dove into PCs. Loved the BBS days and find KOL to be the only online game I can stick with for the long haul
-
Hey, I'm Wes. I'm a 29 year old computer technician in Baltimore, MD, USA.
I've been playing for about 4 years now, mostly continuously. I've currently got three accounts, Battlingdragon, David Penne, Wossname.
You can also find me on Reddit, Steam, Xbox Live, and Playstation network with this name.
-
I'm a 30yo IT guy. I'm new to KoL. It fits very nicely in the gap left behind by my cookie clicker addiction.
I grew up in the St. Louis area, but now I'm in Iowa. It's cold up here.
-
I’m rhythmwookie, from the UK,and I work with numbers. First off, I *am* interested in ordinary people. But, if any of you are aliens, time-travelers, or espers, please come see me. That is all.
PS
I once started a character here, heavens knows how long ago. Long enough ago that it was deleted. Much has changed. Still just exploring.
-
Early Forties, kids, wife. Love sci-fi/fantasy. I was part of the clan a couple years back but never got real involved. I posted a couple times in the old forums around the "floaty sand" time. I only see "The Welcome Wagon" and wonder if there is something I am not seeing.
I made the mistake of remembering Crimbo this December and kinda got sucked back in. Who knows if it will last? Currently doing some lazy meatfarming to get a Mr. A. The lure of the new sea content is strong as it was not here when I left and I just reloaded Mafia.
-
Hello there. My name is Konstantin. It's probably the same as Constantine, but I like it this way. I'm 37yo, wife, daughter. I'm from Novosibirsk, Russia.
Working in IT. Playing KoL for 3 and half years. Love games, anime, metal&electronic music, sci-fi/fantasy books/movies. And no, I don't have bear pet :)
-
Hello! I'm Emily. I'm 24 & live in the United States. I work in an elementary school. I've recently begun KOL; so far it is great. Games aren't usually my thing but something about this draws me in. When not working or in front of a computer I am generally reading or exploring.
-
Howdy folks,
My name is Crook (the nice kind) though it's a rare occurrence to see me in clan chat these days. I'm residing in Australia so beware the extra 'u' I throw into most of my words. Oh and the 'h' in yoghurt.
-
I'm Olorin, a 43-ish parent of a 10 year old girl, a 17 year old parrot and a ten month old puppy. My spouse and I live in the south burbs of Chicago. We are professional musicians who struggle to eeek out a living up here, so I work an office job up in Chicago to make ends meet. I love old adventure games and found KoL 6+ years ago.
-
Hi clannies, my name is Charles and I live in Saint Louis. A friend got me onto this game and I enjoy playing it in between graduate studies for Education. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as backpacking, and geek out with Magic the Gathering as well.
-
The name's Mitch. I'm a sophomore at Stanford University, but I'm living in Berlin for the next 6 months.
I've played on and off for a long time. I got hooked after a Comic-Con giveaway.
-
My name is Samantha. I study civil engineering, and, as my name suggests, I live in Alaska.
-
Hello Hello!
Call me Joe. Been playing on and off since at least 100 years ago. Okay not really. About 8 years or so now. Went through a half dozen accounts over the years before finally settling. Currently slowly piddling through college to join that sweet sweet stem field. Honestly spend most of my "internet" socializing on 4chan. But hey, maybe this whole internet handle thing isn't crazy. Supposedly you crazies don't bite too hard. I love to meet people, in all walks of life. Enjoy reading most things. Almost read through tv tropes once or twice, so if you like any sort of fiction we can probably have lots of fun.
Not sure how to finish, so here's a video of a school bus:

-
I am Cyberdyne. My in-game nickname is Brick. I have 3 alts. Third Season Kirk, Sastre, and Ayn Rand, the Caustic ****.
-
Hey clannies.
I'm Jeff, 42, 2 kids age 15 & 18 (oldest one is graduating in a few weeks, still trying to wrap my head around that). I did 39 years in Chicago, then I came to my senses & moved to just outside of Phoenix.
An adventurer have been I for a long time, but I went inactive for quite awhile.
-
My RL name is Jean. I have used my screen name on a few RPGs when I first started playing games. I wanted something that described my easy-going personality. Soon after I realized it wasn't a very good role playing name, but I still use it on a few places and since you can't change names here, its still here. You can call me Jean or "Nexie" if you want to use my game name. My new name on other games is either Eden Dawn, or Jeyne.
I live in Southern Wisconsin, USA. I will be turning 46 in 2 days, married for 24 years this September, no kids but a HUGE garden. Almost 2 acres that we take care of ourselves mostly for fun and of course food. Five years ago I lost a job I loved (and had for 18 years) due to cutbacks and the economy. I found another and am grateful that I did, but I hate it so don't ask :P
I haven't been very active here despite enjoying the quirkiness of the game. I am trying to get on more, and would like to learn more about all the aspects of the game, including the clan basement, buff bots, etc.
-
Hi, I'm Chris. I'm fairly new to this game, but am approaching the end of my first playthrough. I probably won't post all that much, but I'll try to get in at least a couple times a week.
-
Hi. I'm Joel. I've played before, back in 2006/2007, but lost my accounts to inactivity after all my IRL friends moved on to other games and I wanted to be cool.
I started up a new one recently, and I'm already feeling new to this again.
Guess that comes with the fact I've been away for so long.
I want to get into the community here, since last time I never bothered with the social elements of the game, what with playing with friends I saw every day.
Currently no alts, though I may get around to that eventually.
-
Agnar the Cruel; not (I hope it's obvious) my real name. I am a mathematician. Still haven't Ascended because I'm having too much fun unlocking and exploring and so forth. I had an account a long time ago (don't remember when, or what username) and got another when I had some time.
Now I just have to make sure my wife doesn't fuss too much about the time I spend beating up Neckbeard Giants to collect packets of Open Sauce, and suchlike.
-
This is Cyberdyne posting for this user so the account I created for them isn't deleted
-
Welcome all!
-
Hello, I'm chaosmagez.
I joined the game, made this account, forgot about it for a year, joined this clan, and now here I am.
-
Hi. I am Tamyra, I started playing back in '08 at the suggestion of my Dungeon Master, then he moved to Korea and Kol was the way we kept track of each other. I have two multis- SueSue and Dewanda but they are in other clans and only really share my knit hat collection. I'm only playing sporadically now, but this is my rpg fix, since real life doesn't include any D&D. I live in North Central Minnesota and at the moment have 8 cats and my best friend living in my house and I work at a big frozen french fry factory. Kol has been a blessing. I'm liking the new content.
-
I live in California, working for a television station. I first found KoL thanks to the mushroom fields when looking for games involving gardening, loved the place, and have been clowning around the kingdom ever since.
-
High everyone!? ;)
I'm in my 40's in Denver, Colorado ... The Mile High City ;D
This game is hilarious...as are the members from what I see in chat :D
I'm glad to be here, everyone has been very helpful. Thank you for having me.
EDIT: The first clannie to figure out what my username stands for gets a prize 8)

Hi IRL my name is Jim and I currently live in Ottawa, Canada (the town that fun forgot). I am (as of writing this) a 48 year old single parent with two now adult daughters aged 20 and 18. Both are gamers but neither plays KoL, go figure. I am a big fan of RPGs (the games, not the weapons) of all forms and have been playing since I was a young teen (I have a particular weak spot for JRPG video games). I've apparently been playing KoL since about 8 months before I moved back to Canada from where I was working in North Carolina, USA (2009). After a "fun-filled" 25-year long career doing high-technology and project management thingies internationally, I walked away from it all and have been a full time undergraduate starving student at Carleton University since 2009 (my first time going to a post-secondary institution). I'm a bit slow at it with everything I have going on (and my brain isn't as spry as it once was), but I expect to graduate in two years with honours degrees in both Theoretical Physics and Feminist Studies (trying to fire both sides of my brain at once). I am also a private pilot, inventor, amateur musician, and I have a weekly radio show on CKCU called "The Dollar Bin" where I play music I have randomly found in dollar bins (must be $3 or less for sale in a retail store), almost all of which I had never heard before, by bands I didn't know: http://cod.ckcufm.com/programs/371/info.html. You can play my shows "on demand" or hear them streaming live if you "tune in" over the 'net (if you're actually in Ottawa or environs, tune in to 93.1FM). I blog publicly at http://pheloniusfriar.dreamwidth.org/ if you
want to go full Internet stalker have any interest in my various ramblings. And yes, my handle is a jazz pun (I've been using it for my various online names since the late 1990s and use it on my radio show as well).

My name is Dan.
I have a minimum wage job with ridiculous hours, which has given me too much money so i have been funneling it into my newfound KoL addiction. Hey, whatever, better than free-basing sodium and ginger for a living.
I'm 22. I am not sure I qualify as a dependable adult in any dire situation.
Glad to be here.

Hello all, I'm Beljeferon, a long time player of KoL and fairly newish member of the clan. I'm also dreadfully ignorant of forum use... yup, gotta admit it. lol
Been playing the game for about 7 years or so, ran a successful clan (which is now floundering horribly because I passed the keys to the wrong people apparently...<<sigh>>), and am a huge familiar, tattoo and trophy ****. =) Gotta love a game that feeds my ODC! lol
-
Hi, I'm Funkbringer! I used to play as Blitzen, but lost the email I used to sign up and can't figure out what i used for a password. ???
My goals for now are to permanently unlock Bad Moon and collect my brimstone gear again! First I think I'll try the seasonal ascension path though. I played something like 5 years ago, before they had those. The new karma system seems pretty cool, too!
Hope to contribute a lot to my clan in the future. ;D

" Well now, I get low and I get high
And if I can't get either I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, Staying Alive!"
Well, I'm a dancin' woman, technically.
An early 90's child, but I was definitely born in the wrong decade.
I grew up listening to my Mother's ABBA / BeeGees record collection, so you can imagine my excitement when I first found out that one of this game's characters was a Disco Bandit.
I work at an on-line customer support center, with full internet access at my station during work-hours, so I have a lot of free time between chats with customers to adventure on kol.
-
Hi, I'm AnAngryBlade in-game (I'm in the process of overhauling my online "persona" and don't want this username associated with my name IRL yet...hope that's okay). I'm a woman in her 40s who lives in Ireland and right now I'm working my way through the game for the first time and love it.
I'm mostly a lurker- I don't often turn on chat and probably won't say much here either- but anyone can feel free to message me for any reason. Despite my username I am friendly, I promise! ;)

Hello,
I come with 2 subwoofers and many glitches. I am building up my main toon and playing a meat farmer. Since I deleted at least one one time drop on my main it may become my meat farmer. O.o
I am in college, so I have no idea how much time I can dedicate each week to playing. My birthday is on the 30th of this month. I plan to be out of the country but my head injury from this spring may prevent me from doing so. I rock pink like no other.
Goodluck!

Hi, my name is Richard. I'm 32 and live in south east of England (UK) and work from home as a computer programmer.
I started playing KoL in 2008 but I never finished my first ascension and stopped playing for reasons I can't remember now! I just started playing Fallen London and it reminded me how cool this used to be. My account was still active so I have now finished my first ascension (I guess 8 years is pretty slow for the first one ;)). So much has changed in the game since then and I'm looking forward to playing through and discovering it all over again.
-
My name is Sean. I'm 29 years old with a wife and a young kid. I work in IT. I'm currently at a pretty time-intensive training so I only get a chance to play on the weekends (at least for a few more months). My wife got me into playing KoL for a few years now, but my character was always deleted before I got too far into it.
Nice to meet everyone!

Hello,
I'm a 22 yo human male living in Poland. I work in a factory, in a three shift system. I'm a schizotype and stray from human interaction unless necessary (although I'm friendly and helpful when approached), so you won't see me much in the chat, but feel free to chat me up if you need some help or wanna talk a bit (I hate crowds, but 1 on 1 interaction is perfectly fine). If you know any hot, buxom females in my area looking to do the dirty deedI'm not really looking for friends, but I'll be doing my best in contributing to the guild and you can always (just not all the time) chat me up for free consumables or help in getting a particular item or whatnot. That's the gist of it, see y'all in the game.
-
Hi, my name in KoL is Arthur13 and I found this game after looking for remplacements for Glitch. Although I have 2 ascensions under my belt, I still am a precious newbie and I need tutoring :P. After having suffered a cheat of a part of my meat (although I was in a part irresponsible since I was the one who dumped so much meat) (500K, and I had 900K from a Time Lord Mug) I moved here, since the people here is more friendlier and the costs are cheaper.
Nice to meet everyone!.
-
Hi, my name is Riley. I'm 21 and from the East Coast of America. I am rather shy until I get to know somebody, so I'm not sure how much I'll be on the forums or in chat. I'm also mainly homebound with 24/7 migraines and another headache disorder at the moment, plus some mental health stuff, so I may not be on KoL every day, but I'll certainly do my best.
I've never ascended before (though I'm up to the Sea and and the Naughty Sorceress' hedge maze) so I'm definitely not the person to go to for advanced questions, although I'll definitely try to be as helpful as possible.
I am also trying to donate as much as I can to the clan, to hopefully balance out my lack of person-to-person interaction as of yet.
Everyone seems rather nice, so I'm happy that I've joined :D
-
Hey Hey
My name is Rich, been playing KOL for only a couple of months and loving it.
Outside in the real world I am a professional magician here in the UK and work at the UK's only magic bar "Illusions" and also its sister bar "Smoke & Mirrors" which has parlour shows.
I'm a big geek who has never grown up (physically maybe..but definitely not mentally)
Hope to catch you all on the chat.

Hi all. I'm Eric. At 53 years old, I'm a public library Director in Idaho. I'm a gamer from way back. I'm old enough to have played D&D when it first came out, and have been a playtester for both CCGs and RPGs. I played the MUD Realms of the Dragon (where I headed up two guilds and also coded) for several years, back when a 4800 baud modem was cool. In addition I'm active in Learned League and the National Puzzlers League.
I've only been here a few days but I'm having a lot of fun already. I look forward to helping out where and when I can!
Butternut Squash
(named for the soup I was eating when I registered - seemed appropriate for a Sauceror)
-
Hi all.
I'm an EFL teacher in the UK, drawn into the game about 10 years ago when I saw I could be an accordion thief (I love accordions). I only managed one ascension before stopping, but I came back to the game about two years ago. Now I am completely addicted, particularly since I can steal all the accordions I have ever dreamed of!
-
howdy,
I'm blind jhon, and if you haven't figured it out by the name yep I'm blind...and yeah my name is spelled right, J H J H J H O N. I just came to KoL, I've been a long time player of Core-Exiles but wanted another text based game to play so here I am. still just getting my feet wet and learning the ropes.
-
Greetings! I am a mysterious entity named after my stuffed toy cat who is named after nothing in particular.
I played KoL a little a few years ago - just enough to ascend once, and then NS13 happened and I lost interest somewhere in the middle of something to do with frat boys and hippies in my second life - and I thought I would stop by and see what has changed since my last visit.
(As it turns out, pretty much everything.)
For nostalgia's sake, I am once more a Pastamancer.
(...Although even they have changed... I mean, pasta thralls? When did we get those?
They're awesome.)
-
Hi, I'm Shikyo - the added sama at the end was from when I made this character like almost nine years ago. I haven't played in ages, and only recently picked up the game again within the last few months, so there's been many new additions to explore and re-learn.
I'm 29 and a single dude, and mainly play the game when I'm home from a late shift at work - so right after rollover occurs. (Or on the occasional day off when I've actually got time in the afternoons.)
Thanks to all the older (both in figurative as in more experienced, and literal sense of the word) clannies who've put up with my questions!
-
Hi, I'm Nalk. I started playing in 2011 and joined Old CW's shortly thereafter (I was warmly welcomed with a Tickle-Me Emilio that still sees much use), but I've only been busy in clan dungeons for about the past year. If you've been in Hobopolis or Dreadsylvania recently, you may have seen me blithely screwing around and trying not to violate too many policies.
Also (and I recognize that this is probably not the best place to raise this question) I'm not sure how to get access to the rest of the forum areas; the link in-game - "After you have activated your account, you have to get FULL forum permissions. In order to do this you must follow this link:", etc. - seems to be pointed at the old, inactive forum.
EDIT I have figured it out. Thank you for your continued forbearance.
-
I'm Kawa. I'm also one of those people that stepped away from KoL for far too long (I think I left right when Hobopolis was first rolling out). You can thank Mr. Skullhead's Reddit AMA (and the perfect dadjoke "I'm giving away my used batteries! They're free of charge!") for my coming back .I'm really excited about getting to know all the new content with you!
I'm hoping to slowly and semi-casually work my way towards Level 30 as a Disco Bandit and earn my Manual of Transcendent Olfaction in the process. I'd like to see all the things I missed with clan content and the sea, too!
When I'm not playing KoL I'm figuring out what to do with the math degrees I earned when I was out, eating plenty of cheese, watching Minecraft Youtube videos (<3 Mindcrack!) and pondering how vast and wonderful the world of free low-overhead games are. (I'm also super into roguelikes; I play Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup on CSZO webtiles, and if you understood that statement without looking anything up please let me know because it'd make me so happy. <3)
-
Hi!
I'm Dan in RL, Shinydan almost everywhere online, and Ricochet on KoL. I've been away from the game for a couple of years but I've been enticed back by a mate. So why not?
What ho

Hi, I'm Tara, age 24, in the real world. I started playing KoL quite a few years ago, then just kinda stopped in the middle of a **** run... Now about 4 or something years later I'm back and somehow didn't get my character deleted!
I am found as Kyrioa on almost every website I join. It also happens to be the name of one of my ball pythons.
I usually play KoL on my phone, so I'm not in the chat often at all.
-
Greetings,
My name is Andrew, I live in Hungary and I'm 21 years old. I started playing KoL a few days ago (Nov 17.) and I really like it. My hobbies include reading, and this have an impact on my playstyle I usually check things, gather information from every possible source ("... to be the very best like no one ever was ..."). Multiplayer games are my type, without friends I usually get bored of a game after 1-2 weeks (Although I'm a sitting in the corner guy) This clan looks like one who can make me stay :D
May the sauce be with you!
-
Hi there! My name is Helen, I am 30something (ahem!) and I live in England. I have been a member of KoL since 2008 when a friend of mine recommended it. I had a great time on it but then life took over and I stopped playing.
It was only when someone at work was talking about matchstick men fighting (they'd seen it on a TV programme apparently!) and it triggered a memory!
I've been back playing it for about 2 months now and I am more into it than before!
Unfortunately as I work full time and I am studying part time for a Bachelors degree I don't get an awful lot of time to play but I will try to pop in and say hi as much as possible! ;D
-
Hey folks! My name's Liam, I'm 25 and I'm from the UK. I stumbled upon KoL while looking for free MMORPGs and I've gotta say, I'm loving it so far! :D When not exploring Loathing I spend my time studying for my PhD in physics, playing other video games, cooking tasty food and hanging out with my girlfriend. ;D
-
Hello, my player name is xoogie. I am a 34 year old teacher who currently lives in Florida. I just found out about KOL and started playing, and I love all the references and groan-worthy jokes. I'm looking forward to getting further in the game. Also, I don't know if anyone in here hid Crimbo gifts...but just a general thank you to the people who did. It was a really helpful and fun thing, to find Crimbo gifts my first few days of KOL!
-
Hello everyone! My in-game name is Tommy Shepherd (from a Marvel comics character), though in real life I respond best to Gai. I'm a 21-year-old university student here in the Philippines. I found out about KOL earlier this year during our 4-month summer break, and I've been logging on every now and then, when my internet connection permits. I won't be able to log in that often, but I'll make sure to log in at least once a week in case of important events :D

Hello folks,
Afa here. In real life I answer to just about anything but most call me Mel. I'm 30, married and trying for kids. some day it will happen.
I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Am a certified medical transcriptionist, with Medical office assisting as well. I cannot find work in my field because Vancouver Island has their own 'health authority' that doesn't recognize my certifications because they were not obtained on the island, as a result I'm between jobs and using KOL as a sanity saver. It is a great way to fill a small portion of my evenings. I got hooked in 2006 when coworkers were talking about it and played for three years then got really sick and had to stop. Rediscovered KOL again back in October and been on just about every day since.
I love this clan. Everyone is nice and when able they always offer advice when asked.
Feel free to send me kmail, if I can answer a question I will. That being said, I don't know a whole lot about KOL as I have never made it very far but am really enjoying every moment of it this time around. I love the quirky messages for each adventure, fits in with my personality perfectly. I guess this time around I'm just having fun 'farming' (at least I think that's what you could call it) and just gradually making it through all of the quests. I'm in no rush to ascend but will eventually and look forward to the new adventures and redoing a few of the others that don't change.
I don't collect anything really...just one of every piece of equipment that I get, the rest of everything I get from my adventures (other than food and booze) ends up in the clan stash.
Hope everyone enjoys this clan as much as I do.
Ciao for now
Afa

Hello,
I am the_jb5000_battledroid. My date counter zeroes at 1 January 1970, although that is seven years prior to my O/S startup. I am unsure of the integer length I use to store time, but I hope to be here after 2038. I am an example of British engineering, and my data ports are 'male'.
-
I am Bludragon (of course) and also Fettucini. I am mother of two grown sons (22 & 24) and i drive a transit bus for a living. I live in the Mojave desert in California just south of Death Valley. I have played KoL on and off for a few years now and I keep coming back back to it. I have always been a part of this clan ever since I started playing.
-
Hey
I'm Nicholas, and Siradein is my alter ego and is very likely a parasitic cosmic entity that will one day consume my soul. I was pointed in KoL's direction years back and thought it sucked at the time (getting my ass kicked in cobb's knob and having no clue what was going on most of the time). I started a new account some months back and persevered through the early levels, found the wiki, and have several ascensions under my belt and a fair-to-middling understanding of the game in general.
In RL, I'm a machinist by night and a lump under the covers by day.
-
Hey folks, happy holidays and such if you're into that, if not just have a cool day.
37 year old licensed veterinary technician, guardian of one perfect dog who takes up all my time/energy/money (so none left for kids). Living near Seattle, WA, USA. I super enjoy the sheer cleverness in this game, and find myself laughing constantly. Things that I will absolutely geek out about if mentioned include pathology and equine color genetics. I find memes hilarious long after they're dead and think puns are the highest form of humor.

Howdy Clan Mates
My real name is Lance I live in Eastern Canada, have been an avid on line gamer since dialling up a BBS was cool to play your turns on Legends of the Red Dragon
I am 48, I spent 15 years in the Canadian navy before retiring and taking on a job as a power engineer, I have a dugout full of kids and a penalty box full of grandkids.
I started KoL about 2 years ago, but didn't get in to it and not much past lvl 5, however i just rediscovered it and am hooked.
I look forward to adventuring and hanging out with you all, from what I have read and what I have seen so far, Old CW clan is a perfect fit for me

Hello! Enora Li is my alt account on KoL. I was driving myself insane during a KoLHS run, and started a new account so I could do whatever I wanted to. :) I'm very excited to finally be in a clan with active and informative people, and I appreciate the welcome in chat, too!
IRL, I am 32 (33 this year, woohoo!) and live in TX. I play some games on my xbox, but nothing on the computer (aside from Sims 2, which most people don't consider gaming). I love reading, and will pick up almost anything from manga to romance to horror. I drag my sister to anime cons when we have time, but the birth of my niece has thrown us off track. She isn't old enough for us to take out, yet. I... don't really know what else to say. If you have any questions, send me a kmail, or a PM on the forums. I check KoL dailyish, so that would probablly be your best bet. I wish everyone all the best in the new year!
-
Greetings fellow Loathers, from MickyFinn the Ever Elusive. Though i do enjoy my time here in the Kingdom (espacially the Radio, of which i listen to whilst playing another game) I actually hail from another place entirely...the Fine city of Stormreach on the continent of Xen'drik in the Eberron Continuity (aka DDO.com). HMU if interested in visiting the fine city and realm i call my home.

Hello Clan Members,
I am Lori, single mother of 3 (24,20,15) living in Upstate NY. Been playing KOL for over a year. My son (20 - Evil Ted the 2nd) got me started . Looking forward to learning more about how to play the game (so I can boast to my son ) Have a great day
Lori
-
Hello Everyone,
My name is Justin. I am a complete noob to KOL and play usually in the morning when my wife is trying to sleep and I am watching our 4 month old daughter. I use to live in Upstate NY and now currently live in NC.
-
rl Shane, 51 Northern BC Canada, been playing on and off since ascension. Worlds slowest ascender ;D
-
I am Derrick. I have 2 main accounts I play, Buddybrock and Canefan. Cane was my original, but a mess up with a mr a purchase made me decide to keep mostly with Brock. I am 42, married with 2 kids. I work as a youth pastor. i have been playing for almost 11 years. I still know practically nothing about this game. I will help as much as I can, but dont ask me if you want to be faster. I was born in Miami, and now live in Central Florida, in a town most have never heard of, but I am about 30 minutes from Mickey's front door.
-
I'm a 60 year old married father (of 2) and grandfather (of 4). I've worked as a technical writer for about 25 years and love woodworking, DIY projects, reading, and web surfing. I have a workshop, and do a lot of furniture repair and refinishing, mostly of things that other people throw out. I first started playing back before there were even ascensions, and that ID was eventually deleted for non activity. I joined again with IDs similar to what I have now, but stopped again for a few years and gave up those IDs. I've been playing now for about 5 years. I was attracted to this clan because I'm something of an old fart (not saying anyone else here is, though).
-
Hi Folks, been playing KoL off and on since 2007. Took a long break but am back relearning everything :) just did a community service ascension to give me some time to start remembering and am now on a hc sauceror ascension to enter October's contest. Glad to be back!
-
Hi all,
I first started playing KoL in 2004 but left it for almost 10 years. I'm now relearning everything and and thankful to have super helpful clannies who share lots.
I'm in my late 30s and married. I research and develop executive leadership programmes for a living, and hail from the sunny isle of Singapore. :)
-
Hi,
My name is Carol. Like many others I used to play many years ago but stopped for years and have come back to it now. I'm having to relearn everything and find out all the new stuff that's in the game now.
I'm almost 50, live in the UK, have 4 children and 2 grandchildren - currently not working but busy with family.
-
(waves at everyone)
I'm 47, I have two teenagers and an awesomely twisted husband. I work as a nurse on night shift, so I'm often awake at odd hours. I started playing a while ago, but got frustrated. Now I'm back, still a bit frustrated, but having more fun this time around. Age, maturity, something like that... ;)
-
Hi! I'm BigOleg. (I actually have a cousin named Oleg.)
My real name is Greg. I'm a single father of two teens living in Metro Detroit. I work in automotive advertising.
I played KoL many years ago. May 10? Is that possible? I'm giving it another whirl. It's thrilling.
-
I'm 46, married, with two young kids I sometimes refer to as the Major and Minor Forces of Chaos. I started in KoL in 2006, but like many here I took a multi-year hiatus. Just now coming back -- a lot's changed!
-
Howdy all, I'm like pretty much everyone here it seems. I played way back in highschool and I've recently started picking it back up again. I'm a 27 year old who lives in the midwest with a boring office job. KoL isn't blocked on the work servers though, which is actually what got me back into the game.
-
Hi!
I'm Garganelli (not my real name ;)) I live in Eastern Ontario, in Canada and have been a casual player since 2011. I've been a member of the forum in the past, but I lost access due to inactivity. I'm still here! Thanks!
-
G'day,
Names Carl, 28 years old, live in Australia.
My account is 12 years old (as of 2 weeks ago) but i had about a 5 year hiatus in the middle there.
-
Hi, I'm Kate, and I turned 45 last week. I'm a software engineer who has gone back to university to do post grad work in Bioinformatics, since genetics was always my first love before I was seduced by coding. I play the cello. I love hiking and cats. And I've just got engaged to someone adorable who has no interest in games whatsoever (beyond Go).
I'm mostly new to KoL. I played for a couple of weeks a few years back and ascended exactly once, but for whatever reason I'm much more immersed in it this time. Sorry if I'm quiet on chat; I'm kinda shy until I get to know people, which I'm doing slowly, at least the people who play at the same time I do (mostly evenings NZST). Many of the conversations go over my head, but I'm learning a lot from them. Thanks, clannies!
-
Hello!
Just wanted to stop in and say Hi.
I have started playing in June of 2016 and have recently joined Old CW. I may ask questions on the in-game chat, and may post here from time to time, but my time is limited with household duties (i.e. driving kids everywhere...). I have 4 accounts (started when I thought you could only have 40 adv per day, and I loved the game so much then I made 3 more) and am always finding something new. Still love the game!
accounts:
deadleeplatapus
Geriatric Albatross
Stiffly Jointicus
Thumper Trumper
I think it was late when I was choosing my names. I don't remember why...
Thank you for letting me join the clan, and I will try to be as helpful as possible.
-
Hi everyone, I first played kol back in 2004/5 but have no idea what my account name was back then. I rediscovered kol in Feb 2016. It is vast now compared to back then!
-
My name is Lisa. Massive fan of Stefan Sagmeister, Alexander McQueen, cheese, poorly-thought-out Marvel characters, and disco. I'm a 36 y/o non-trad art student (bronze sculpture and communication design) living in TX after a lifetime in CA and NYC.
Dealing with a little culture shock here.
I stumbled on KOL as a bored temp receptionist in 2007. After accepting a job that had actual work for me, abandoned that account and forgot about KOL until recently. Spent an ungodly number of turns my first new run until someone smart suggested that I get out of the sea, join a clan, and perm a lot of skills before going deep. Joining an older crowd like you lot sounded perfect after years in a dorm full of kids.
Really, really good to meet you lot.
-
Hello! My name is Holly, and I am a 43 years old married woman. I live in New Mexico, yes we are part of the US!
I have two sons, one is 12 and the other is 22. The 22 yo just got out of the Navy and is now in college full time. The 12 yo, plays video games and mimics Jim Carrey.
I found KOL via Reddit and am already addicted! I also love to read and sew.
Thanks y'all!
-
Hey! I've just returned to KOL after a ::cough:: 10y hiatus and WOW, it's HUGE! I can't wait to chat more!
-
Hi! I'm Andrew. I'm 33, in Sacramento, California. I'm a lawyer (relatively new to the profession), formerly a neuroscientist. I also play viola in two orchestras and compose music in my spare time, and also enjoy cooking and both playing and watching soccer.
I've actually been playing KoL fairly consistently since 2008, except for a hiatus of about 4 months in early 2016. Just joined this clan after realizing that my last clan had gradually withered away over the years (I was the only one who had played since last September, and only one other player had played since 2015.) Recently got an account to edit the KolWiki too, though so far I've only used it to mention pop culture or other real-world references.
-
Anna Phylactic, of Toronto. Played KOL a long time ago; maybe a decade? Around the time of the MST3K Sampo at Hestivus. I haven't done too much outside of the regular adventure/ascension cycle, so I'm looking forward to trying out PvP and the dungeons!
-
I'm a forty-something London-based lady. I have one seven-year-old son and a husband who works for a digital content agency. (He finds my obsession with KOL charmingly old-school.) Before my brain atrophied under piles of laundry, I was a researcher for parliament and now I play the guitar to try to lay down new neural pathways and because I love music. I discovered the game when it was mentioned on the They Might be Giants wiki and found it to so up my street it's parked in my driveway, honking its horn. Chatroom has been a bit quiet so far. Where is everyone?
Don't be shy. Don't be terrified.
-
I am a forty something software developer currently based in Cape Town, South Africa.
I'm married with two kids; 16 and 13. IRL i enjoy not being IRL. Ive been playing KoL about a year and only recently finished my first ascension.
-
Hi, my name's Chad. I'm 37, live in California and have been in the Air Force for just over 18 years. I started playing back in '06 after reading an article about a murderer.
I remember selling a Mr. A for $5M when that was a premium price, I remember selling a drink to a clan member that included a tiny plastic sword for a little over $5k thinking I had just hit the lottery. I won out on the Mr. A at the time and absolutely lost out on the TPS both then and now.
I've popped in and out of the game at random throughout the years, not keeping up like I should but I keep forgetting that I like this game.
-
Who am I? Well, to quote my brain-care specialist, Gag Halfrunt, I am "just this guy, you know?"
But anyway, I am older (somewhere around 50. Maybe even 50.) Married. No kids. I teach, do research, and administrate.
And I live underground.
Seriously.
-
I'm a Geek of a Certain Age, which is kind of unsurprising given that most of the in-game jokes are aimed at, well, geeks of a certain age.
About to turn thirty-eleven, engineer, New Englander transplanted to the midwest, two kids who also had accounts back in the long-ago times, maybe around 2006-7? and who are now doing things like "going to college" and "driving my truck." (Yikes.)
Pleezdameetcha.
-
Hi! I'm 30 since August, and I played KoL for a little bit back in school, several years ago, and decided to pick it back up. Im a Southerner, so I do hope y'all will forgive me my colloquialisms.
Nice to meet y'all!
-
Huh, I thought I did this already.
Anyway, I'm a plenty-one year old IT engineer, currently living in South Florida. I was born in upstate SC, and also spent quite a few years in Richmond, VA.
I'm a huge Star Wars geek, enjoy most pop culture, sci-fi/fantasy stuff, except Dr. Who. I'm sorry, I've tried multiple times, and just can't get into it.
I started playing KoL in 2008, lost interest after about a year and took a six-year break. I re-discovered the game around September 2016, only to find there was no one left in my old clan. I'm so happy I've fouind Old CWs, as the people here are just fantastic! I normally play from work, so will be hanging out in chat usually in the late mornings, east coast U.S. time. Feel free to say hi!
Peace,
~WreckedEm

Who am I? :D
Hmm, let's see. Long story short:
My name is a combination of part of my first name stuck on to my middle name & I really do answer to "Dylea". I'm not positive where my head was at when I made my KoL name, but the "Metal Weaver" is a reference to one of my hobbies: making maille (or chain mail, if you prefer) jewelry and what-nots. I've been on KoL quite a while, but had to take a break for a while due to offline issues.
I have red hair, green eyes, am almost painfully shy, have a hot temper (but usually get over it quickly), can hold a grudge on occasion, I haven't danced on anyone's grave yet (but could make an exception to that if I wasn't a couple thousand miles away from my ex-husband's <evil smirk>), I am a couple years younger than dirt, owned by 3 cats, and I'm co-caregiver for my father-- which means despite my age, I live with my parents.
I'm addicted to books (my bedroom looks sorta like the public library with a cot & a tv, as I have book cases on 3 & a half of the 4 walls-- we won't mention the bookcases in the hallways or other rooms. ;D ). I love orchids and have a small collection growing in the house.
Yes, that was the short version. Trust me, I'm keeping this brief, but I tend to ramble a bit. Or more than a bit. Or... nevermind.
So, hello and nice to meet you all (eventually, maybe)!
~Dylea~

Hi everyone! I'm Jenner!
I got into KoL a LONG time ago (like 2008), and played it solid for a couple years. I was even a member of this clan back then and power-raiding Hobopolis with the crew in the Tautology side-clan. Well, I guess I got bored or distracted or some fancier, flashier game caught my attention because I disappeared for 6 years. Well, West of Loathing hit Steam, and I got a bit homesick and returned.
It's been rough! KoL is a complex game, and a LOT changed since I last played. But, I'm studying up, learning the new tricks, and hope to be back into the swing of things soon!
Outside the game I'm 43 and married. My wife loves some of the jokes in the game that I show her but not enough to play it herself. I'm an avid gamer and have been playing since the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 era. Currently I'm a big fan of Elite Dangerous, Warframe, Overwatch, anything released by Tell-Tale Games (amazing stories in them), and Minecraft which is another game I take frequent breaks on, but keep coming back to. I'm a huge supporter and follower of the Star Citizen project. I loved the book "Ready Player One" and can't wait to see it on the big-screen. For shows, huge fan of The Orville, Mr. Robot, most any crime and detective show, South Park, and just recently (finally) started watching Game of Thrones.
By day, I'm the network administrator at a company I've been at for 11 years now where I was originally hired in as an engineer (what I have my degree in). By night, when I'm not gaming, watching TV and hanging with my wife, I'm hanging with my main gaming group, Oddysee (www.oddysee.org), or going out to La Mesa, Kochi Sushi, Mr. Lee's or one of the other restaurants where they all know me by name, or hanging out and drinking one of the 1000's of beers at "Red, Wine & Brew" with friends who I've known since childhood.

Hi! I am maestraguera (Shelly). I have been playing this game off and on, forever. I have been bumped from the clan at least twice due to inactivity...(not mad, I understand!) I am a cancer survivor and have also had a pretty significant/traumatic surgical history. 3 big ones in the past year. I mostly meat farm, but I would like to get to understand the game better and do more with it, while still contributing meat to the clan.
-
I'm an EFL teacher in the Middle East. I like to think this game keeps me halfway sane.
-
i teach English language learners and Spanish Immersion...
-
I'm a 50-something retired schoolteacher who's raising a surly tween, and KOL is my morning pastime. Once I've used up all my turns, I get down to my part-time jobs of editing manuscripts, running a small consult business for authors, and writing my own novels.
And then, with great reluctance, I go and clean the house.
I also ski, read, and bake a lot. Come say Hi in chat!
-
Hello! I'm just starting out with the game. I work, I go home. So, I hope to try and get somewhere with this game, I've never really gotten too immersed in an MMO, so here's to it!
-
Hello there. I'm 43 years old and have recently discovered KoL as a hilarious game. I try to stop by at least every other day to spend my adventures and looking around for a clan yours seemed the most suited to me. Would love to you guys.

Greetz,
I'm an ex-5th-gr teacher & game dev (ChipWits, The King of Chicago) who writes scifi (Channel Zilch, Hel's Bet.)
I've got severe brain damage. I can no longer program. I thought that I could no longer play computer games, but recently remembered KoL, which I played 13? years ago.
This is the first computer game I've played in a decade and it's a blast.
Just about to learn KoLMafia.

Hi, I'm Joyce and I'm a 52yo artist from L.A.
I first started playing back when you had to log in every day. I've been playing on and off ever since, but only ascended once. This time around I'm having fun learning about the mechanics of the game and love it more than ever.
I'm glad it took me this long to find the clan; if I'd joined at a earlier point I probably wouldn't have been around much at all.
-
Hi, I'm David, I'm a 36 y/o business analyst from Oregon.
I've been playing KoL for a few months, but I've been playing similar games for most of my life. I'm still learning everything, and am glad to have found a pretty chill clan. I'm usually quiet, but always watching. Always... watching...
Nah, I'm just usually online at work.
-
Hi all, I'm Mike, 34 years old and living in London, UK. Coming back to the game both after a long absence and as a relative newbie, enjoying being part of the clan in the chat so far and looking forward to digging deeper into the game's less obvious content!
-
Hello! I'm 28, living in Washington, DC, US. I've been playing KOL very casually off and on for about five years, and like a lot of folks here I'm excited to learn some of the harder-to-reach bits (clan basement, sea).
-
Good day everyone! I'm a 38-year-old dad of 2 (soon 3) who works in public relations in the capital city of SC. This is a great way to get through slow times and fun to work through every day. I'm back after a long, long time away (old account disappeared). Currently, working to get all the gabardine outfit and do a mask run at some point. If you have a collection you'd like help with, let me know. Will always send a needed buff to you when allowed, currently a TT.

Hello, every one!
I'm a 40-year-old Norwegian office worker, married with one daughter. Played KoL on a daily basis back in 2012-13. Came back to see that the more it has changed, the more it stays the same. My old clan and associates seem to have disappeared, however. Old CW's seem like a great, friendly clan, and I'm happy to be a part of it.
Now I'm trying to rush through some ascensions to catch up on the essential permed skills. Mostly do cc_ascend since I don't have much time to carve out a beautiful manual ascension.
-
Hi all!
I'm a 36-year-old software manager in Texas, married with two kids (my daughter is 24 days old!). I also run a website for the party game Mafia (aka Werewolf), that's where the username comes from. That's where I found out about KoL originally - I played for a bit back in 2004, before returning on this account a few years ago.
-
Hey folks!
I was a member of the clan years ago before I stopped playing for a while. Picking it back up, looking forward to being a part of it again. (Already sent my app, just waiting for the approval.)
44 year old, living in Idaho. My main has done a number of HC ascensions, including enough Oxy HC runs to have the full plexiglass set. I find I don't like casual runs much, I really prefer the challenge of HC more, though I mainly do straight HC with no restrictions (except Standard since that's a thing now, I guess?).
-
Hello, I am Jeff (Tomatobasil666) I played KOL years ago and now just started a new character, I have been powering through ascensions until I can get enough skills permed to do **** without killing myself. I will likely disappear for a portion of the summer because my real passion is for sailing and there is no internet on the water!
-
Hi all. I’m Muhskeetis. Father of four, musician, line cook, and another old noob. Lost my account years ago, still getting used to the changes. Needed something quiet to do in my downtime, and remembered how much I loved this game.
Hope I see y’all in chat!
-
Hi all, I'm Guillaume de Volpiano, father of two, art historian and mediaevalist, 'cause nobody's perfect. Apart from KoL, I mostly play Nethack and Dwarf Fortress. Yet another old git with weird tastes in games.
-
Hi everybody!!
My name is Mauricio, I'm 30 and I'm from Paraguay, South America(Sorry for my bad English). I used to play KOL a lot back in 2005-06, and I'm returning after a long time. I kinda feel lost with so many new things in the game, I feel like a newbie again. I hope to contribute to the clan in any way that I can!
-
Hello! I am Ben (bennkenn). I played KOL a while ago and started again. I didn't know what I was doing then and I don't really know what I'm doing now. I like the game but I just do stuff randomly.
Thanks
-
SandCastor here.
I play as Zig For Great Justice and as Zag For Great Villainy.
Thanks to a nice Mr.A purchase, Zig has been around since near the beginning, but fell asleep for about 13 years. Having done only a couple ascensions before falling asleep, and finding everything new and weird, djve has titled me the RetroNoob. I like it.
Anyways, done some ascensions, down to a 6-day best (because I have very few IOTMs), starting on a few hardcores and challenges. Good times.
Can't wait until full forum priviliges so I can post contest entries. Zig want win free stuff.
IRL, I'm Mike from Canada, 37 ("I'm 37, I'm not old"). My eldest kids are 13 years old (partly why i wasn't playing KOL). Here for a good time.
And my 70 yr old Mom loves when i read her adventure descriptions, especially from Community Service.

My name is Shelly Giron, my clan name is maestraguera. I have been playing on and off, forever. I am a retired teacher, mother of 4, step-mom of 2, grandmother of 7. I currently work as the Jewelry Lead at Macy's in Grand Rapids, Michigan--it's something to do. I have 2 chihuahuas and a wonderful husband who is a salsa musician. I am usually on the game just to do the silly challenges and earn meat. I donate everything I get to the clan. I am sure I could do a much better job but I haven't learned any of the savvy for meat farming or even how to do the different ascensions. I am still confused about the changes in making food and drinks!
-
Hi, I'm Carl.
I'm 25 as for this year, and I'm a streamer -- I'm probably the only streamer whose playing the game on Twitch as a breakfast before other games.
I love video games, as they were the only outlet and refuge I had from bullying in my life, including from my own family.
I used to play KoL a lot, but then stopped, and recently came back to it.
I'm looking forward to being a bigger part of the community here!
-
Hey, I’m Kaaron. Played Kol casually for a while a few years back. It makes more sense now! Otherwise I’m working parenting making music and keeping bees in the frozen Midwest.
-
I'm Ouch!
(Some call me Jon)
In game I'm EuphoricLust and evilive about equally. I'm a fire performer, state worker, sometimes glassblower and mini painter. When you hear this call may be monitored for quality assurance? I may be listening in … while playing KoL. I contact juggle and spin staff whenever I can and think fire is delicious.
-
Hi! I'm your friendly neighborhood McLesbian. I'm from the midwest (sort of, I still maintain I am too far east to be considered midwest but I don't get to make those decisions) and I do programming for 3 group homes for adults with disabilities. I have 2 cats and I absolutely love naming my familiars really really stupid things (like the macaroni duck named Quackers and Cheese or my reassembled blackbird Paul McCartney). I've played this on and off for years. My first go around was in 2006 or so, and I come back every year or so and do another round. I'm about to ascend for the 11th time. I'm not really sure how to do the clan thing, but here I am.
-
Hi! Please don't judge me too hard, I made this account as a teenager. I'm about 30, New England (USA), and I love this game despite having spent long periods without playing. I'm active in chat, and I very much appreciate how nice and how helpful this clan is!
I have an alt called Mairon that I use when I'm in HC, etc on main.
-
Hi! I will reintroduce myself as I am asking to have a new (old) character added to the clan. My name is Kathleen and I am a long time member of the clan named Carnot. I am a graduate student teaching mathematics classes, a metalsmith, and a cat whisperer. I started back replaying KOL when I started working and schooling from home and was pleased to see that I am still in the clan!!!!!!! Thank you so much for that!!!!!!
I have exciting KOL news (well, exciting to me). I finally got up the courage to ask for my original character from almost the beginning of the game (with a custom avatar, swoon! Attached to a school email account that I lost suddenly so I thought she was gone forever...). Her name is Teto and please let her in! Carnot is busy trying to get her speed down doing **** runs right now, so Teto is going to be a more leisurely character so I can try out all of the new features and special challenge paths that I have missed during my time away!
-
Hi! I've been around forever, but I still stink at this game. Thanks for letting me be part of the clan!
-
Hey hey Im Darth, easy just to call me that I dont usually use my real name. Most just call me Darth or Jeebs.
Ive been playing this since the start, I play pretty often usually at work. But yeah glad to be here.
-
Greetings & Salutations,
I am Nithrogg or at least the persona that I use for RPGs and online games. Greatly enjoying myself with KoL, nice too see a game that does not take itself so seriously.
-
Hi All, I'm new to the clan but not KOL but it has been many years since I played -- long enough that I couldn't remember my old account!
I'm a mom to a 3 yr old son, married and live with Metastatic Breast Cancer so I'm going to be as active in the game and the boards as I can but please understand if at times I disappear for a few days if I feel crummy.
Besides KOL, I like playing other games -- Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age Series, Batman games, etc, write fanfiction and just try to enjoy life. I look forward to getting to know you all!!
-
Again, I'm terrible at forums, etc. So terrible, in fact, that I'm posting despite the warning that I should start a new thread.
My name is Red. I live in the Midwest United States, and make my way as a life coach, because those who cannot do, teach. I played KoL a very long time ago, and I think I just remembered my name, RedTheTerrible. I think I may try to get back into it. Thank you for accepting me into the clan, and hopefully I posted in the right place.
-
rexrex, usa, started playing wayyyyy back in like 2003 or 2004 (on a different account) but came back a few months ago for the usual quarantine boredom reasons.
-
Hey gang -
I had a KoL account back in the very beginning and had a great time with it.
Forgot all about it and now years later stumbled upon West of Loathing and thought I would check to see if KoL still exists.
aaaaaaaannnnnnnd......
wait for it.....
still waiting....
...
IT DOES!!!
For all those who were wondering it still does. And I think my old account still does too because my old email address is still linked, but I have no idea how to access it, so I created a new account and..
now I'm HERE!
So thanks for having me.
-
I used to play KoL back in 2005, but so much has changed, and my memory is poor, so it feels like a brand new game.
I'm 37 and from the USA. I look forward to meeting everyone.
-
I am a long-time gamer, first-time KoL-er. I'm having a great time and may be essaying the basement soon, although I feel apprehensive about making an error both in chat and in the basement itself. Thanks for having me.
-
26yo American guy who has been playing KoL on and off for the last few years. Haven't managed to get the gumption to join a clan until now, so this is my first clan. Glad to be here!
-
Hello, I'm Zarino. Played around 14 years ago. Happy to be here, and thank you for having me.
-
Hello! I'm HQD. I used to play KoL back in '09-'12. Coming back to it a decade later is really fun. So much has changed, yet in some ways it's all still the same. I was a member of Cir Senam's, if any of you remember that clan. I would stay up very, very late into the evening to clear out hobopolis with friends I'd met in the clan, and those are some of my favorite gaming memories. If anyone spots Maemian, let me know!
Aside from KoL, I'm a video and board gamer, a writer, and a bridge player. I love sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure. I love my family. I got engaged this winter and am so, so excited to start my own family with my wife-to-be.
In-game, my main goal is to get back to killing hobopolis bosses. It's a shame you can only get 10 drops per fight now, but it's still the best way to contribute to the clan I think--getting 1000% item drop wasn't hard back in the day, and I'm sure it's only gotten easier now, and with most drops being worth 50k+ on the market, no one should have a problem (in my opinion) donating 200,000 meat per boss they kill, which means hobopolis pays for itself. Anyway, it's what I loved back then and I want to get back in shape for it.
To that end, I'm gonna churn through a few ascensions to get some basic skills going, things like Ambi Funkslinging, Torso Awaregness, Familiar-buffing skills, the +item% passives, etc., and then hope to roll through hobopolis a few times. We'll see after that. Maybe speed runs, maybe more ascending, maybe I'll find something new to do!
Gonna get my six bad moon runs out of the way right away, starting with black cat disco bandit. I'm excited for them :) Kudos to Moondog for the fortuitously-timed contest!
Thanks to everyone for the warm, warm welcome I've received in clan chat, particularly from Zoloft, Chunky, and KingDave. Glad to be a part of OldCW's. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
-
Well met, clan! It's good to be here! Im just 3 days into KoL and loving it. What a strange and perfect place for me to be!
My name is Raquel Gutierrez and I'm a 39 years-old Spanish-Brazilian professor. RPGs are a big part of my life since I was the first girl to ever DM in my old backwater town. I am always curious and eager to learn at everything I do, from teaching arts to playing sports and researching for my doctorate.
I also take care of my elderly parents and enjoy a quiet awesome game while keeping an eye on them. KoL is helping me to fight a pandemic depression, so being here with you is very special to me.
I hope to learn the ropes fast and contribute to the clan as much as I can. I will be here every day, even if just for a few minutes. If you have any task for this newbie, just point me in the right direction and I will help! I hope to adventure with you all very soon.
Warm greetings from a lovely Brazilian beachside,
Raquel "Quelzie" Gutierrez
-
Hey there! Bossks Boss, here.
Been around the block in KOL for YEARS... this is my resurrection account... I killed off my old accounts long ago. Glad to be back. I am mainly a **** guy at the moment and looking to participate for some sweet basement loot.
-
I am Hawkin, I'm a (not quite) 35 year old office drone who is an avid gamer in her off time. I play PC, board games, and tabletop RPGs (though I haven't had a group for that in a while). My wife also enjoys the latter two. Our daughter also likes board games, and is getting to the age where we are looking to introduce her to one of the age-appropriate tabletop games, too.
I played KoL for years during and after college, dropped out around 2013 for various reasons, and got back into it in January of this year. Sadly, my old clan seems to have mostly gone inactive, and I was in need of a new (and active) clan.
-
I'm Malodious aka Cade, a retired engineer living in Puerto Rico. I dabble with KOL sometimes - was a member of Guardians of the Six Pack for several years, though they have atrophied to a barely tangible husk. KOL is ALL about people, imho. I hope to meet many of you in chat.
-
Hello there! Im Carlo, i'm italian, 38! :) Sort of a KoL returning player: i have just recently swiped the dust off my account from 2014!
Looking forward to meeting you all!!
And of course, to some crazy puns and some jokes. And the occasional anti-raffle in /games!
-
My name's Liz, I'm 33, and I'm from the USA. I started playing KoL as a college student in 2010 and picked it back up for a while in 2015 to kill time while working front desk at a hotel when I was in grad school, but it fell off my radar again until a few weeks ago. I played Roadwarden on Steam last month and it got me in the mood for more text-based RPGs, which got me thinking about KoL, so I fired up the old account. (I also played West of Loathing in the meantime, which was super fun and really reminded me how much I love all of the wordplay in this game.)
My main account is hopeandmemory, but I have a number of alts—not for farming or anything against the rules, but just because I like trying out all of the different classes and seeing how the nemesis quests are different for each of them. I did my first ascension recently and reclassed from Disco Bandit to Accordion Thief, but I think next go-around I might switch to Pastamancer, since that is my favorite class. Maybe I'll try a **** run, too!
I have never joined a clan before now, so I am a little shy/nervous because I'm not really sure how the basement thing works (though I think I have the karma balance needed to access it?). But I'm eager to learn and help if I can!
-
Hello, I'm Andrew, idk wtf I'm doing I already introduced myself on the clan's message board
-
Hi, I'm Rhylser, from Singapore. I like exploring a game's mechanics and understanding every little thing, so it will be a while be ascending.
-
Hi, Chopper here. Mid-30s, USA. I haven't played KoL since college. After spending 1,500+ hours in Stardew Valley, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and see what's new in the kingdom.
-
Hello. I'm Hellioning. I've been playing this game off and on (mostly off) for most of its existence.
-
I am an Irishman living in Germany. Found KoL about three months ago and have been too busy trying to survive to do much on the forum or chat side. Just started listening in the last couple of weeks. My Character (and all my familiars) are named after UK politicians as it amuses me. I have opionions about poiticians.
Just started the Frat/Hippy war and am aiming at the sorceress before the year ends. But I think Crimbo will torpedo that idea, if all I reads comes to pass.
